HISTORY
The Story of Oasis World Mission
Oasis World Mission (OWM) was founded in Apple Valley, California by Pastor Chun Soo Ahn in 2002. But the story of Oasis World Mission (OWM) begins long before that, with its founder. Pastor Ahn was born in 1936 in South Korea, and he fell in love with the gospel at the age of 17.
Since he accepted the gospel message, his whole life has been dedicated to sharing the good news. He worked as a professor, evangelist, and pastor for the Seventh-Day Adventist denomination in South Korea and the United States from 1971 until his retirement in 2005.

Pastor Ahn began visiting China from 1994-2004 doing evangelism through a network of house churches, until he landed on the Chinese government's black list for doing missionary work, and was unable to return to China.

From 2006-2019, OWM’s main focus was conducting evangelistic campaigns in India, along with financially supporting Bible workers, distributing scholarships, and providing financial means for mission work in Andhra Pradesh, India. Pastor Ahn also held evangelistic series in Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, South Korea, the Philippines, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan during that time.
Double Banned
Pastor Ahn has been banned in two countries for his missionary work. In 2004, he was threatened with arrest by the Chinese government, so he has been unable to return to China since. In 2019, on his second mission trip of the year to India, Pastor Ahn was turned away due to his past mission work upon arrival at the New Delhi airport. He was told to never return.

Since being banned in 2019, OWM has pursued other avenues of ministry such as evangelistic series via video conferencing. Oasis World Mission has continued to fund Bible workers and funding scholarships for students.

In 2023, at the age of 87, Pastor Ahn returned to direct foreign missions. He has been going on evangelistic campaigns in Pakistan, Nepal, and the Philippines.

Oasis World Mission is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are primarily funded by Oasis Orchard, a jujube orchard planted and operated by Pastor Ahn’s wife, Whaja Ahn, and by donations from family and close friends of the family.
